Clash Verge Rev shipped v2.5.1 on May 20, right after v2.5.0. It's a small fix release with no major changes — mainly two annoying bugs patched. Here's the rundown from the GitHub release.
What got fixed
- Backup settings bug: Exporting / importing a config backup could fail before; this release makes backup and restore more reliable.
- Windows node interaction: Some Windows users had node switching not respond, or the selected state get out of sync — fixed in this build.
Per Clash Verge Rev's versioning (the z in x.y.z is bug fixes), v2.5.1 is purely fixes with no new features.
Windows 7 no longer supported
From this generation on, the Windows installer no longer supports Windows 7. If you're still on Win7, you either stay on an older build or upgrade the OS. Most users on Win10 / Win11 are unaffected.
Who should update
If you hit the backup error or flaky node switching on Windows, update to v2.5.1 directly. If you didn't, moving up from v2.5.0 gains little — update as needed. New users should just install the latest.
Updating is simple: download the new installer from the download center and install over the top — your subscriptions and config are kept, no re-import needed. With "software auto-update" on, it installs on next launch.
For the core that ships with v2.5.1, see the Mihomo core upgrade notes; new features are in the v2.5.0 feature update. Get the installer from the download center, and the post-update setup is in the guide.
