Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about downloading, installing, and using Clash Verge Rev.

Clash Verge Rev FAQ: The client is free and open-source for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You need your own subscription. Full setup is in the Guide; get v2.5.6 from the Download Center.

Is Clash Verge Rev free?

Yes. Clash Verge Rev is completely free and open-source under the GPL license on GitHub. The client itself costs nothing, but you still need your own subscription (nodes) to use the proxy.

What is the difference between Clash Verge and Clash Verge Rev?

After the Clash for Windows repository was deleted in 2023, the original Clash Verge author stopped updating. The community created Clash Verge Rev as a successor, keeping the clean design and adding many new features. Today "Clash Verge" almost always means Clash Verge Rev.

Does Clash Verge Rev support Android or iOS?

Clash Verge Rev is desktop-only (Windows, macOS, Linux) with no official mobile app. On Android use Clash Meta for Android (same Mihomo core); on iOS, Sing-Box is a solid free alternative.

My subscription import keeps failing or spinning. What now?

Usually your current network cannot reach the subscription URL. Try updating on another network, or set a working update proxy in the profile settings. Also confirm the link is a valid, non-expired Clash / Clash Meta subscription.

The proxy is on but I still cannot open websites?

Check in order: the subscription has updated and shows nodes, you selected a working node (run a latency test), and "System Proxy" is enabled in Settings. For apps that ignore the system proxy, enable Tun mode for global routing.

Where is it safe to download?

Download installers via this site’s download center. Avoid unknown third-party sites that may tamper with or bundle malware into the package.

Is Clash Verge Rev the same as Clash for Windows?

No. Clash for Windows was discontinued in 2023. Clash Verge Rev is a successor client built on the Mihomo core with a modern UI, Tun mode, config overrides, and more. See the comparison blog post.

Will updating lose my subscriptions and config?

Installing a newer build over the top usually keeps your subscriptions and settings. If unsure, export a backup in Settings first, then upgrade to v2.5.6.
