The app opens, latency is all red, or system proxy seems ignored—on Windows, check firewall/AV before blaming the provider. They often block the GUI, the Mihomo core, or the local mixed port.
With Tun + AI tools, the symptom is often “Tun is on, Cursor/Claude still times out” (Tun & AI).
What to allow
| Component | Where |
|---|---|
| GUI | Windows Security → allow app |
| Mihomo core / service | Install dir binaries |
| Mixed port | Firewall rule, not blocked |
Does it look like a firewall?
Same subscription works on hotspot/another PC; or disabling protection briefly restores latency. Browser extensions work while Clash doesn’t → local block more than feed failure (update failed).
Allow steps
- Windows Security → Firewall → allow an app → enable Clash Verge Rev (private/public for a test).
- If missing, browse to the install dir; also check separate core/service binaries.
- Third-party AV: restore quarantined files and exclude the install folder.
- Confirm the mixed port isn’t blocked by extra rules (ports).
Short A/B test
Disable protection for about a minute only to locate the cause—then turn it back on and add precise exclusions. Keep the same node during the test.
Finish on Connections
You should see new hits. None → system proxy. Hits but fail → latency, sites blocked. Logs: logs.
Stop
Every device slow → provider path (slow speed). Builds: download center.
