Clash Verge Rev on Linux isn’t feature-gutted, but packages, permissions (service/Tun), and desktop proxy behavior differ from Windows/macOS. Pick the right package, import a subscription, then decide on Tun.
Builds: download center. Overview: getting started, install by OS.
Packages and install
DEB for Ubuntu/Debian; RPM for Fedora/RHEL; portable .app.tar.gz when packaging is awkward (confirm on the download page). Don’t mix old third-party builds. Safety: safe or virus.
| Distro family | Package | Install hint |
|---|---|---|
| Ubuntu / Debian | DEB (amd64 / arm64) | Use the package manager or dpkg -i |
| Fedora / RHEL | RPM | Use dnf install on the local file |
| Arch / others | AppImage / portable tarball | Mark executable, run from a fixed path |
# Debian / Ubuntu
sudo apt install ./clash-verge-rev_*_amd64.deb
# Fedora / RHEL
sudo dnf install ./clash-verge-rev-*.rpm
Subscription and system proxy
Import/update (setup); empty lists: no nodes. Enable system proxy and read connections. Ports: ports; single-site failures: sites blocked.
Service mode and Tun
Browsing often needs only system proxy. CLI/Electron/global capture → service mode + Tun (Tun, Tun & AI). No privileges → env proxies instead. On headless servers, set HTTP_PROXY/HTTPS_PROXY for the shell rather than relying on a GUI toggle.
Acceptance
- Nodes > 0; latency not all red.
- System proxy shows hits.
- Verify Tun/CLI only if required.
Index: common errors.
Common Linux-only gotchas
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| App won’t launch | Missing desktop/runtime libs | Install the distro’s webview/GTK packages |
| Tun fails to start | No root / missing kernel module | Use Service Mode or run with privileges |
| CLI ignores proxy | Shell has no env proxy | Export HTTP(S)_PROXY for that shell |
