Many GUIs wrap Mihomo (Clash Meta). The core speaks protocols; the GUI owns subscriptions, Tun, and updates. You’re choosing a shell, not a magic faster kernel.
Circle your three weekly needs: Tun, subscription refresh, Merge/rules. If Clash Verge Rev covers them, switching rarely pays. Also: alternatives, vs CFW.
Read matrices carefully
“Has / hasn’t” is capability, not your line quality. Maintenance and verifiable releases beat obscure toggles. A feature list tells you what the app can do; it says nothing about the nodes behind your subscription.
| What you actually use | Ask the matrix | Do not over-weight |
|---|---|---|
| Tun for stubborn apps | Does Tun work reliably here? | Theme color, icon shape |
| Subscription refresh | One-click update, no manual YAML? | Number of obscure panels |
| Merge / custom rules | Editable prepend area? | Claims of “faster core” |
| Safety | Verifiable source & signature? | Marketing speed words |
Safety specifics: safe or virus.
Trade-offs
- Want Tun + subscriptions with less pain: modern GUIs like Verge Rev.
- Want minimal: older shells may work, but you own updates and security.
- Phones: mobile.
Still torn after a week
Write one line: missing feature / unstable / untrusted source / aesthetics. Fix nodes and rules before blaming the GUI (provider, routing). Most “client is slow” reports are really “node or rule is wrong.”
Migration cost
Re-import your subscription and Merge (backup). Don’t change shell and provider on the same day—you won’t know which move fixed or broke things. Builds: download center; getting started.
